Goods That Kill

Tiff's Gear

Bow:

Mathews Passion

I have a ton of Passions in my life, but the biggest is chasing Whitetails. Nothing feels better than to hunt the one animal I have the most passion for in my heart while holding a Passion in my hand.

Arrow:

Carbon Express Mayhem 250

My arrow of choice is the Carbon Express® Mayhem™ which is engineered to deliver the ultimate combination of speed, accuracy and penetration - setting a new standard for all-around hunting performance.

Broadhead:

G-5 Tekan

5 reasons why I shoot G5 Tekan
  1. New Black finish reduces Glare.. Although Pink on the head would look prettier!
  2. 100% Steel tough.... It's kind of like 100% Beef grilled very well done! Tough, Really Tough!
  3. Rearward Deploying Blades.... Try saying that 10 times fast!
  4. 1-1/2" Cutting diameter.... Cut a hole in your leg this big and let me know how you feel! This is a really big hole and this is why deer do not go far after sticking a Tekan into them!
  5. My favorite reason is the diamond cut sharpness! I love most anything with a diamond cut in it. If my diamond wedding ring would cut through a deer as nice as the G5 Tekan then I would probably use it to gut out the animals I shoot.

Release:

Scott "sabertooth"

Gives me that xtra 1/2 inch that I need.
Just the name Sabertooth makes you feel like you can throw your release at a big Iowa buck and knock him over.

Sight:

G-5 Optix

  • Dialed in and deadly!
  • This sight has a Magnesium Alloy construction which is 30% lighter than aluminum!
Let's face it i am a girl and I really don't like carrying a heavy bow around the woods so the lighter the sight the lighter the bow! That's what I'm talkin bout"!
  • It also has a rubber arrow bumper which is like having a rubber bumper on your car. If you hit something softly it will remain quiet with no dents.
www.g5outdoors.com

Arrow Rest:

G-5 Expert 2

Makes our arrows perform flawlessly! Trust me I do not like flaws! I can handle a flaw in a new sweater or pair of jeans but when it comes to the release of an arrow on a Booner Buck??? NO WAY!
www.g5outdoors.com

Camo:

Realtree

Well duhhhh, are there any other camo patterns out there?
You really should check out their "Realtree girl" line of clothing as well... It even makes a farm girl like me look good.
www.realtree.com

Scent-Control:

Scent-Lok and Wildlife Research Center

Scent-Lok clothing has always been on me the day I started hunting.
Back then it really wasn't that much fun wearing men's clothing (which makes you feel really sexy by the way... NOT!) Scent-Lok now has clothing for girls, which not only fits great and looks good, but lets face it, since guys stink way worse then us, I think it helps girls get way more closer to bigger bucks than the guys since it does not have to adsorb as much smell. Wildlife Research Center Scent Killer Spray = This not only works great for hunting equipment but you should try it at home on your husbands stinky feet. It works well there too!

Binocular/Rangfinder:

Nikon EDG, Nikon "Archers Choice" Rangefinder

The Binocs we use are called Nikon EDG and it does not stand for "Every Dog Growls"! EDG stands for ED Glass or "Extra-low Dispersion Glass," which reduces chromatic aberration and results in sharper, brighter images. Fancy words for a farm girl but these glasses are not too fancy for the outdoors as they are very durable. Coupled with the Archers Choice Range finder we pretty much can see deer at any distance and Range them at any angle plus or minus 89 degrees!
www.nikon.com

Grunt tube:

Flextone "buck collector"

I think the name says it all! Although it should be called "BIG" buck collector.
When you blow on this call it says "Hey you, you ugly whimpy buck ya wanna fight" then the buck you want to shoot walks over and you shoot him! It's that simple! OK so it doesn't work like that all the time but trust me, you will want this call in your back pack. Nature Designed, Flextone Engineered.

Target:

Morrell "Bone Collector" & "Crush" target

  • I luv the fact that my target is pink! Oh and how easy it is to pull out our arrows!
  • This target makes practice shooting easy, it also makes us want to shoot all of the time!
  • Yes the Morrell commercial is true, I usually do outshoot the boys!
www.morrelltargets.com

Treestand:

Ameristep "Outfitter" with "Rapid Rails"

Lee loves the portability as well as the light weight that comes from the Outfitter Treestand and Rapid Rails. I love 3 things here:
  1. Big George setting up most of my stands!
  2. The ease of getting into the stand!
  3. The comfort while you are there all day hunting.
www.ameristep.com

Blind (permanent):

Ranch King Tower and "N-Ground" blinds

We have not used yet, but way excited to try them this year.
The N-Ground blind will keep you cool in hot October temperatures because they are made with an aluminum base. I am so looking forward to staying cool on 80 degree days in October. They are also snake proof, now Iowa does not have poisonous snakes, but, I do not like it when I get to my ground blind and a snake is all slithered up in the corner hiding from the hot sun!
www.ranchkingblinds.com

Utility vehicle:

Bad Boy Buggie "XT"

All I can say is that they should make a model called "The Bad Girl Buggie".
Let's face it I kill just as many bucks as Lee and I haul just as many bucks out of the woods as Lee. There should also be a Pink Realtree AP Camo version with a rear view mirror to check out the do just before you have to take pictures with the big buck ya shoot!
Bad Girl Buggie... "They'll never hear you coming" www.badboybuggies.com

Food Plots:

Antler King

Can you say bigger Bucks???
www.antlerking.com

Trail Cameras:

Cuddeback

I love trail cameras! Knowing what kind of bucks are in the area you are hunting keeps you going to the treestand day after day after day! Or maybe it's Lee who keeps me going to the treestand day after day after day! Either way seeing those Cuddeback pictures with Gynormous bucks on them makes me happy!

Lee's Gear

Bow:

Mathews Z7

Mathews continues to make the best every year and every year I love the Mathews bow I am shooting. Right now I shoot the Z7 and I finally figured out what the ""Z and 7" stand for... It means when you shoot an animal it will go to sleep for good in 7 seconds or less! Now that is what I am talking about!!
www.mathewsinc.com

Arrow:

Carbon Express PileDriver 350

The PileDriver™ is my arrow of choice because it is the heaviest arrow in the Carbon Express® line that delivers ultimate penetration, maximum kinetic energy and greater knock down power.
www.carbonexpressarrows.com/

Broadhead:

G-5 Tekan

5 reasons why I shoot G5 Tekan
  1. Precision Deployment System..... The Precision Deployment System on this expandable broadhead requires less than 3 lbs of energy to open. In addition, the blades open rearward keeping the broadhead from deflecting even on very severe quartering shots.
  2. Spin Tested... I don't care if some poor guys is in a back room testing every blade himself! As long as they are being tested then that makes me a happy hunter!
  3. Diamond Cut Sharpness... Tiffany loves this reason the best!
  4. Practice Blade Included with the Tekan heads... Practice people! It's Free!
  5. Robust Blade Edges... Tapered blade design provides a robust cutting edge that minimizes twisting and bending.
Twisting and bending is a good thing when you are dancing. Not a good thing when your broad head is going through a big bull elk!

Release:

Carter "Target 4"

Carters website says their products hold many national and international records and that they are used by more professional shooters than any other brand. I don't really care about all that, what I do care about is the $400.00 bill from my taxidermist for mounting a great whitetail! The Carter release is part of the reason I am getting those bills in the first place.
www.carterenterprises.com

Sight:

G-5 Optix XR2

I mean just the name sounds cool! One fixed pin and one adjustable! I mean come on the best of both worlds! It has a dial like on a radio that lets you dial in your yardage to the yard! It can't get much better than that! It also has a rubber arrow bumper which is like having a rubber bumper on your car. If you hit something softly it will remain quiet with no dents.
www.g5outdoors.com

Arrow Rest:

G-5 Expert 2

Queit! Easy to use! Easy to tune! Wow that kind of sounds like the perfect wife.. (Don't tell Tiffany I said that) I could go on and on about this rest but the greatest thing is a wide polymer over-molded launcher spool for an ultra quiet draw. Not just a quiet draw, but an ULTRA QUIET DRAW. Let's face it quiet things in the woods are very very important! That is why I keep telling Tiffany to leave her cell phone and video games out of the woods.

Camo:

Realtree

Pretty much Realtree Camo blends into any background we are hunting period! Fact!
www.realtree.com

Scent-Control:

Scent-Lok and Wildlife Research Center

We will never go into the woods without our Scent-lok clothing. People always ask us if it really works and I speak the truth when I say yes! Is it 100% fool proof? NO nothing is! But anything that can give you that edge to get 10 yards closer or stop a buck for 10 seconds longer to make him guess if you are really there or not, makes me wear Scent-Lok every time I enter the woods!

Wildlife Research Center Scent Killer Spray

Another great tool we use day in and day out! When you have 2 treestands, cameras and an extra stinky cameraman in the tree with you... Trust me you would use the best spray in town to help kill the extra odors too.
www.scentlok.com
www.wildlife.com

Binocular/Rangfinder:

Nikon EDG, Nikon "Archers Choice" Rangefinder

The EDG glasses are the cats meow especially when you want to see greater distances with unbelievable Clarity! We also use the "Archers Choice" Rangefinder which has waterproof/fogproof ruggedness, pocket sized portability, long eye relief (18mm) and has the new ID (Incline/Delcine) Technology.
This Rangefinder is perfect for a bowhunter!
www.nikon.com

Grunt tube:

Flextone "buck collector"

Just received this and can't wait to use it, it is everything that we have always wanted in a grunt call, finally someone is listening, oh and it looks cool too! Kind of like me back in the 70's with my long shaggy hair and bell bottom jeans! Yeah Baby!
www.flextonegamecalls.com

Target:

Morrell "Bone Collector" & "Crush" target

First of all you cannot beat the price on Morrell targets. So The Crush practice target is pink big deal. I heard chicks dig pink and I used to wear pink shirts back in the day. Now the "Bone Collector/The Crush" Broadhead Target is pretty cool. It has Mine and Tiffanys face on one side and Michael Waddels on the other. (Don't tell Michael this but sometimes I shoot for his little itty bitty eyeballs on the target. It makes for better practice when you really want to get dialed in.)
www.morrelltargets.com

Treestand:

Ameristep gives us the portability and ease that we need to set up our stands quickly.
Let me tell ya when you have to setup 300 treestands on your property it makes it nice when you have a light easy stand to set up. With the combination of the quick wrap around Rapid Rails you will be singing Hallelujah when all is said and done.
www.ameristep.com

Utility vehicle:

Bad Boy Buggie "XT"

  • Its so quiet and can get us anywhere without spooking the deer.
  • This thing has been totally reengineered from the ground up!
  • Independent McPherson Strut Suspension! (Easy on the biscuits when going down those bumpy trails.)
  • 4 Wheel Hydraulic Disc Braking System! (Means Tiff won't run into the back of the garage again with a big buck on the back of the Bad Boy)
  • 25 percent more horse power and Torque on the Motor (We can sleep in a little longer now because the Bad Boy can go faster and get us up steeper hills closer to our treestand.)
  • The Electrical system sealed and protected! (This means when we have 3 bucks loaded up and the buck on top is dripping blood it won't short circuit out.)
www.badboybuggies.com

Trail Cameras:

Cuddeback

Trail cameras in my opinion are one of the best scouting tools for whitetails ever invented.
They allow you to live with Whitetails all year and watch them grow into the buck you would love to see hanging on your wall. Without Cuddeback I would not have ever known certain bucks were even living in are hunting areas.

Lodging:

Appalachian Antique Hardwoods

AAH’s “Man Shed System” helped us to convert some of the Crushville rooms into a totally awesome rustic hangout. The antique heavy beams, barnwood, and backwoods bark on the walls keep us feelin’ like we’re in the woods even while we are chillin’ at home. Each of the pieces also have a history with them which reinforce America’s tradition and heritage and we think that is really cool. The Man Shed System is easy to install and sparks immediate interest from all of our buddies who come over. The coolest part is how the system can grow as we need it to. It is totally customizable so we both get what we want.
